Though Aamir Khan is politically aware, he has a controversial past owing to his views on intolerance in the country.
Over the last few years, Aamir Khan has delivered some brilliant movies which had something enlightening for the society and his upcoming Laal Singh Chaddha, also makes sure that the movie buffs have something to take back.
Laal Singh Chaddha is said to trace the journey of India and will showcase some landmark developments, which changed the face of the country. The source from the industry quotes, “Lal Singh Chaddha is not just a film. It will be a reference for the world to see what happened in India in the past few years like how the Paramount film Forrest Gump, starring Tom Hanks, did with reference to the US. Similarly, Lal Singh Chaddha will show Aamir meeting important political and historical personalities in VFX laden visuals. It will also show specific instances like the Babri Masjid demolition to other current political and national happenings like the formation of the Modi government and more. What Aamir and director Advair Chandan clearly understand is that the film’s political symbolism at many places will have different interpretations and hence, they are assuring that it will not rake up too much controversy and will not inadvertently create trouble for the film,” reports Deccan Chronicle.
Time and again, this little master of Bollywood, Aamir Khan belted out gripping performances in script oriented cinema with hard work, talent, and sheer skills that had left us no choice but to appreciate in awe.
You may hate him, you may love him, but you can’t ignore the fact the Aamir Khan is the only one among the celebrated big Khans of Bollywood who actually doesn’t take his audience for granted. When Ashutosh Gowarikar’s brilliant script had no takers, Aamir Khan stepped up to produce the Oscar-nominated cinema. With one move, he had already proved that he had a vision that most actors fall short of. The epic tale of Bhuvan and his mates in Champaner trying to fight the British at a cricket match to get laid off the heavy taxation was a plot that nobody dared to venture with. It was him that made this film get to the Oscars.
Farhan Akhtar’s Dil Chahta Hai was a milestone cinema that changed the way Bollywood dealt with friendship. It marked the end of bullshit, unnecessary drama, death pacts and lofty dialogues that never really occur between friends. Aamir Khan stepped into the shoes of the bratty Akash and made the character immortal. The flamboyance, the wit, the naturalism that he bought into the role, was fresh and much needed.
The only Khan from the big leagues who had ever dared to put on the director’s hat. Aamir Khan made his directorial debut and showed the world his in-depth understanding of cinema and the craft of film-making. The spectacularly executed emotional sequences that choke you in the throat but not titillate you were the essence of Taare Zameen Par. The performer that he is, Aamir Khan stepped into the role of Ram Shankar Nikumbh, the empathetic art teacher who takes it upon himself to make sure that a young artist’s talents are not nipped in the bud just because he suffers from dyslexia.
Amit Khan, he is the best. Whatever he does, he does with such grace and ease that we feel it’s nothing, but it’s not. No one can be like him.
The excitement to see Kareena Kapoor Khan and Aamir Khan once again on the big screen after so long for the Hindi remake of Forrest Gump is soaring high. The Hindi remake of the Tom Hanks directorial has been titled Lal Singh Chaddha. Collaborating with Kareena after six years, we hear Aamir Khan doesn’t want to leave any stone unturned and wants to match Hollywood standards while making the film. It wasn’t too long ago when Khan said in an interview that he waited for 8 years to get the official rights of the film.
Speaking of the project, latest reports suggest that Aamir and Kareena may sport four to five looks in the film. Giving details about the same, a source close to the project told an entertainment portal, “Kareena is the perfect choice for the film. They have locked both the actors’ dates from October this year. They plan to shoot three schedules, back to back and Aamir will have different looks for each era. The film begins in the 70s and ends in present time. From the Emergency and Kargil War to Pulwama and Uri and the changing government, the film will showcase some of the biggest highlights in the last five decades of the nation’s socio-political history. There will be four to five different looks for each part of the time frame. Both the characters age with time and Aamir and Advait has been looking at the clothes, the culture and the looks that were prevalent for every era and redesigning it for a sardaar. They are going to keep a few days off right now to complete the look test before they roll out with the first schedule”,
Talking about the Hindi remake, Ajit Andhare, COO, Viacom18 Studios, said in a statement, “To be able to adapt the classic for Indian audiences is a long-cherished dream for many of us. Knowing Aamir’s burning passion for this subject for many years, he is the perfect partner to bring to life this dream.”
Aamir Khan is one of the most respected superstars of Indian cinema and he has a large fan following in Tamil Nadu also and is much loved by the audience here. After a picture of Aamir and director Vijay Chander went viral speculations rose that the ‘Dangal’ hero is acting alongside Vijay Sethupathi in a new movie.
Vijay Chander has clarified that he was shooting his new movie ‘Sanga Thamizhan’ starring Vjiay Sethupathi and Raashi Khanna in Karaikudi when he learnt that Aamir Khan was in town and as a hardcore fan made it a point to meet him and express his admiration. VJS is playing dual roles for the first time in his career for this film which is growing at a fast pace and will be completed soon.
On July 12, Vijay Chandar shared a picture of himself with Bollywood star Aamir Khan on Twitter and had written, “Some time unexpected dreams come true love u Amir Sir (sic).” This sent netizens on a tizzy, with many even asking the filmmaker if he’s part of Sanga Tamizhan, a film that he’s directing with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.
Curious, we tapped Vijay, who was in the thick of a schedule in Karaikudi, and he told us, “I’m a big fan of Aamir sir, and when I learnt that he’d come to Karaikudi for some work, I used that opportunity to reach out to him. It was a memorable moment for me, meeting him and talking to him, even if it was just for a few minutes.”
Meanwhile, Vijay, who last directed Sketch, is busy with the last few schedule of Sanga Tamizhan. The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing a double role for the first time ever in his career. The director had earlier told us, “I’ve met Vijay Sethupathi a few times and when I narrated the one-liner to him, he was kicked. He has done a variety of role, and he told me that he wanted to do a mass film. Avar oru mass mood la iruntharu. Even I like doing mass commercial films, and we thought this script could work for both of us.”
The film, which also stars Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj, has music by Vivek-Mervin.
Fans of actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been eagerly waiting for the trio to come together on the silver screen. However, no filmmaker has yet come up with a script that would bring together the leading Khans of Bollywood. However, looks like PM Narendra Modi has made it possible! According to a report in Spotboye.com, PM Modi has approached all the three actors to come together for a video where they will reportedly endorse his impetus on Jal Sanchay, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)- a time-bound, mission-mode water conservation campaign.
The report also further stated that the actors have been approached by Union Cabinet Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat- a member of parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, representing Jodhpur in the Lok Sabha.
Reportedly, the campaign has already roped in Aamir and Amitabh Bachchan for the same. But now the creative team has come up with a new idea of getting the three superstars together to grab maximum eyeballs.
What started as a casual friendship on the sets of Lagaan, led Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao to become the power couple of Bollywood. The duo met on the sets of Lagaan in 2001. After Lagaan, Aamir and Kiran once again met during the shoot of a commercial and both found that they are fond of each other’s company. They started seeing each other in 2002. Though neither of them was ready for a serious relationship, but as luck would have it, they moved in together for a year and a half, and tied the knot in 2004. Now, as they cross year after year with love and warmth, Aamir and Kiran seem inseparable. The couple was blessed with a boy – Azad Rao Khan in December 2011.
Aamir Khan took to Twitter to pen an emotional note for team India after they lost semi-finals to New Zealand in ICC World Cup 2019.
Yesterday, the Indian Cricket team lost semi-finals to New Zealand and the nation suffered a heartbreak. However, many fans, including Bollywood celebrities, took to social media to praise the team for their effort.
Aamir Khan took to Twitter to pen an emotional note for the boys, praising them for their performance throughout the tournament.
He wrote, “Hard luck Virat. Just wasn’t our day today. For me, India had already won the World Cup when we qualified for the semis at the top of the list as the No 1 team. Well played guys, throughout the tournament. I just wish it hadn’t rained yesterday…. The result might have been different.” The actor signed off the note, saying “But well done, proud of our team. Love.”
Audiences lapped up Aamir’s 2014 satirical science fiction comedy PK, number two on the all-time Bollywood grossing list, for its questioning of religious superstitions.
Three Indian actors sharing a surname have ruled Bollywood box offices across three decades, but the success of wrestling blockbuster Dangal means it’s Aamir who’s currently king of the Khans.
Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan have been the undoubted superstars of the Hindi film industry since the mid-1990s, taking it in turns to reign supreme.
But with Dangal smashing records worldwide, Salman suffering a rare flop and Shah Rukh without a major hit of three years, the crown for now is firmly placed on Aamir’s head.
“The Khans used to be on a par but Aamir has moved ahead and Shah Rukh is kind of lagging behind recently,” film trade analyst Ramesh Bala said of the trio who all turn 52 this year and who are not related.
Dangal has set new and previously unimaginable parameters for the box office potential of a Bollywood movie since it was first released in India in December last year.
“Found an interesting old working still from the shooting of Inder Kumar’s Dil,” wrote Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher has a treasure trove of throwback pictures and he frequently delights his Instafam with them. On Saturday, the actor chanced upon one such throwback picture which happens to be from the sets of the 1990 film Dil. BTW, did we tell you that the photograph also features Aamir Khan? In the photograph, Aamir’s expression is simply priceless. Just like us, Anupam Kher also loved Aamir’s expression in the picture and he asked his fans to guess what the actor was thinking. Aamir, who is largely a social media recluse hasn’t reacted to Anupam Kher’s post now but we would love to see his response.
Sharing the post on his Instagram profile, Anupam Kher wrote: “Found an interesting old working still from the shooting of Inder Kumar’s Dil. The movie released almost 30 years back. The scene was shot on the Juhu Beach. We had not yet started taking ourselves seriously. Life was innocent. What does think Dear Aamir is thinking here? Will be interesting to know your thoughts.” He accompanied the post with hashtags like #throwback and #LessonsLifeTaughtMeUnknowingly.
Anupam Kher played the role of Aamir Khan’s father in Dil, which also starred Madhuri Dixit. Anupam Kher and Aamir have co-starred in several films, which include Parampara, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi and Rang De Basanti among others.
Aamir Khan’s last big release was Thugs Of Hindostan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The actor will next be seen in Lal Singh Chaddha, which is a remake of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks in the lead role.
