On July 12, Vijay Chandar shared a picture of himself with Bollywood star Aamir Khan on Twitter and had written, “Some time unexpected dreams come true love u Amir Sir (sic).” This sent netizens on a tizzy, with many even asking the filmmaker if he’s part of Sanga Tamizhan, a film that he’s directing with Vijay Sethupathi in the lead.
Curious, we tapped Vijay, who was in the thick of a schedule in Karaikudi, and he told us, “I’m a big fan of Aamir sir, and when I learnt that he’d come to Karaikudi for some work, I used that opportunity to reach out to him. It was a memorable moment for me, meeting him and talking to him, even if it was just for a few minutes.”
Meanwhile, Vijay, who last directed Sketch, is busy with the last few schedule of Sanga Tamizhan. The film has Vijay Sethupathi playing a double role for the first time ever in his career. The director had earlier told us, “I’ve met Vijay Sethupathi a few times and when I narrated the one-liner to him, he was kicked. He has done a variety of role, and he told me that he wanted to do a mass film. Avar oru mass mood la iruntharu. Even I like doing mass commercial films, and we thought this script could work for both of us.”
The film, which also stars Raashi Khanna and Nivetha Pethuraj, has music by Vivek-Mervin.
Fans of actors Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan have been eagerly waiting for the trio to come together on the silver screen. However, no filmmaker has yet come up with a script that would bring together the leading Khans of Bollywood. However, looks like PM Narendra Modi has made it possible! According to a report in Spotboye.com, PM Modi has approached all the three actors to come together for a video where they will reportedly endorse his impetus on Jal Sanchay, the Jal Shakti Abhiyan (JSA)- a time-bound, mission-mode water conservation campaign.
The report also further stated that the actors have been approached by Union Cabinet Minister, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat- a member of parliament from the Bharatiya Janata Party, representing Jodhpur in the Lok Sabha.
Reportedly, the campaign has already roped in Aamir and Amitabh Bachchan for the same. But now the creative team has come up with a new idea of getting the three superstars together to grab maximum eyeballs.
What started as a casual friendship on the sets of Lagaan, led Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao to become the power couple of Bollywood. The duo met on the sets of Lagaan in 2001. After Lagaan, Aamir and Kiran once again met during the shoot of a commercial and both found that they are fond of each other’s company. They started seeing each other in 2002. Though neither of them was ready for a serious relationship, but as luck would have it, they moved in together for a year and a half, and tied the knot in 2004. Now, as they cross year after year with love and warmth, Aamir and Kiran seem inseparable. The couple was blessed with a boy – Azad Rao Khan in December 2011.
Aamir Khan took to Twitter to pen an emotional note for team India after they lost semi-finals to New Zealand in ICC World Cup 2019.
Yesterday, the Indian Cricket team lost semi-finals to New Zealand and the nation suffered a heartbreak. However, many fans, including Bollywood celebrities, took to social media to praise the team for their effort.
Aamir Khan took to Twitter to pen an emotional note for the boys, praising them for their performance throughout the tournament.
He wrote, “Hard luck Virat. Just wasn’t our day today. For me, India had already won the World Cup when we qualified for the semis at the top of the list as the No 1 team. Well played guys, throughout the tournament. I just wish it hadn’t rained yesterday…. The result might have been different.” The actor signed off the note, saying “But well done, proud of our team. Love.”
Audiences lapped up Aamir’s 2014 satirical science fiction comedy PK, number two on the all-time Bollywood grossing list, for its questioning of religious superstitions.
Three Indian actors sharing a surname have ruled Bollywood box offices across three decades, but the success of wrestling blockbuster Dangal means it’s Aamir who’s currently king of the Khans.
Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, and Salman Khan have been the undoubted superstars of the Hindi film industry since the mid-1990s, taking it in turns to reign supreme.
But with Dangal smashing records worldwide, Salman suffering a rare flop and Shah Rukh without a major hit of three years, the crown for now is firmly placed on Aamir’s head.
“The Khans used to be on a par but Aamir has moved ahead and Shah Rukh is kind of lagging behind recently,” film trade analyst Ramesh Bala said of the trio who all turn 52 this year and who are not related.
Dangal has set new and previously unimaginable parameters for the box office potential of a Bollywood movie since it was first released in India in December last year.
“Found an interesting old working still from the shooting of Inder Kumar’s Dil,” wrote Anupam Kher
Anupam Kher has a treasure trove of throwback pictures and he frequently delights his Instafam with them. On Saturday, the actor chanced upon one such throwback picture which happens to be from the sets of the 1990 film Dil. BTW, did we tell you that the photograph also features Aamir Khan? In the photograph, Aamir’s expression is simply priceless. Just like us, Anupam Kher also loved Aamir’s expression in the picture and he asked his fans to guess what the actor was thinking. Aamir, who is largely a social media recluse hasn’t reacted to Anupam Kher’s post now but we would love to see his response.
Sharing the post on his Instagram profile, Anupam Kher wrote: “Found an interesting old working still from the shooting of Inder Kumar’s Dil. The movie released almost 30 years back. The scene was shot on the Juhu Beach. We had not yet started taking ourselves seriously. Life was innocent. What does think Dear Aamir is thinking here? Will be interesting to know your thoughts.” He accompanied the post with hashtags like #throwback and #LessonsLifeTaughtMeUnknowingly.
Anupam Kher played the role of Aamir Khan’s father in Dil, which also starred Madhuri Dixit. Anupam Kher and Aamir have co-starred in several films, which include Parampara, Dil Hai Ke Manta Nahi and Rang De Basanti among others.
Aamir Khan’s last big release was Thugs Of Hindostan, co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Katrina Kaif and Fatima Sana Shaikh. The actor will next be seen in Lal Singh Chaddha, which is a remake of the 1994 Hollywood film Forrest Gump, which featured Tom Hanks in the lead role.
Sukhvinder Singh is a singer par excellence and his body of work is proof of that. His singing prowess and booming voice still echo in the minds of his fans. Sukhvinder has given us many unforgettable songs through the 90s and 2000s and has always been a go-to artist for Shah Rukh Khan.
But did you know that Sukhvinder was challenged by Aamir Khan once and the prize was to record for the Dangal actor. Unfortunately, Sukhvinder lost out on Aamir and blew the chance of working with him. According to the singing superstar, Aamir got to know about his quirk of singing in the dark.
So, he asked Sukhvinder to sing in dim lights in front of him and offered a film if he succeeds in the task. Unfortunately, luck was not on Singh’s side that day and he made a mistake, thus losing out on a film with the Lal Singh Chadha star.

As parts of the country grapple with acute water scarcity, the central government on Monday launched a five-point water conservation campaign – Jal Shakti Abhiyan.
The campaign found two Bollywood superstar endorsers – Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan – who echoed the need for water conservation, contributing to a better future.
Just hours after the two posted videos of them asking people to conserve water, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised them for their efforts in creating awareness.
“Extremely valid points by @aamir_khan on the need to conserve water and create awareness at the grassroots level,” said PM Modi, re-tweeting Aamir Khan’s video.
The Prime Minister’s reply did not go unnoticed by Aamir Khan, who then extended his support to the new government initiative.
“.@narendramodi Sir, the initiative taken up by you of making water the fundamental and primary issue for all of us is an extremely important step. Our wholehearted support is with you,” he replied.

The videos, over a minute long, by both Aamir Khan and Amitabh Bachchan were shared on the Jal Shakti Abhiyan Twitter account before PM Modi shared them on his official Twitter account that has 48.3 Million followers.
The time-bound conservation mission will focus on 1592 stressed blocks in 256 districts and will be centered on five aspects – water conservation and rainwater harvesting, renovation of traditional and other water bodies, reuse of water and recharging of structures, watershed development, and intensive afforestation.
The campaign will run through citizen participation during monsoon (July 1-September 15). An additional phase will run from October 1 to November 30 for states receiving northeast retreating monsoons.
On Sunday, during his monthly radio address “Mann Ki Baat“, PM Modi requested citizens to help conserve water.
